The island of Phuket is located in the crystal clear waters of the Andaman Sea, an hour south by air from Bangkok. The biggest draw of the South cannot be any other than Phuket, Thailand's dreamy island province.

Blessed with dramatic coves such as Phang Nga Bay and its magnificent long white sandy beaches, crystal blue waters, fantastic undersea scenery and its calm and relaxing tropical atmosphere, Phuket offers the perfect setting for relaxing luxury holidays.

Phuket is a luxuriant green carpet of plantations, rain forests and paddy fields, just 30 miles miles long and 13 miles wide. The best known beaches are on the west side of the island.

There is a superb range of watersports, and the island boasts excellent golf courses and sightseeing opportunities including the pearl farm, the aquarium, waterfalls, the lively capital with its markets, and a long tailed speedboat cruise to the eerie limestone outcrops of Khao Ping Gan or 'James Bond Island'.

Explore the rocky islets that make up the unique and spectacular Phang Nga Bay. Many of these small islands are doughnut shaped with hollow interiors. At low tide, gain access to these islands' interiors by flat-bottomed kayak or canoe. This is a marvellous adventure that all the family will enjoy.

Local tuk-tuks and taxis are easy to come by and many hotels operate shuttle buses to Phuket Town and other beaches.

If you want to explore, we recommend you hire a car and it is also a great idea to go with a local guide, but please avoid renting motorbikes.

With plentiful entertainment including spectacular shows at Phuket Fantasea Theme Park, and the nightlife of Patong Beach, this is a very popular holiday destination.
