With stunning sand dunes and rugged mountains dotted with ancient fortresses, the coastline stretches 1,000 miles south from the capital Muscat. Some of the United Arab Emirates best hotels are found around Muscat, the ultimate new winter sun luxury holiday destination (summer is low season with temperatures reaching 50°C).
All but one of the holiday resorts are situated in historic Muscat, the exception being Zighy Bay which is in the beautiful Musandam Peninsula (access to Zighy Bay is best by road from Dubai).
